1. How far is Koh Chang from Bangkok ?
ANSWER: Koh Chang is approximately a three and half hour drive from Bangkok. We can offer private door to door taxi transfer for small or large parties. The rate varies depending on the size of the vehicle usually around 4,500 Thai Bht for a Car and up to 6,000 Thai Bht for a VIP minibus up to 10 persons.
2. How far is the villa from the ferry ?
ANSWER: The villas are only 5 minutes by taxi from the ferry. The ferries run from 6.30am - 7.00pm daily.
3. Will we need transport once on the Island ?
ANSWER: Not necessarily, you could stay on the resort for your full holiday period if you wish to as there is a free shuttle service offered from the resort into the local village and back for residents and visitors. Mopeds are readily available for hire through our agents locally for around 250 BHT per day and car hire also for around 1,200 BHT per day subject to availability. Local taxis are also available, and there are one or two agents offering private taxi services within the resort.
4. How far is the nearest village from the resort ?
ANSWER: The nearest village is called Klong son and is 1.5km from the resort.
5. How far is the nearest restaurant ?
ANSWER: There are two restaurants available on the resort offering both Thai and European cuisine at reasonable prices.
6. Are there many restaurants locally ?
ANSWER: The local village of Klong Son hosts a few nice eateries, however there are many more in White Sands the next village over, about 10 minutes from the resort.
7. How far is the nearest ATM or bank ?
ANSWER: Most petrol stations, Seven Eleven stores offer ATM cash machines of which one is 1km from the resort.
8. Is the sea safe for children within the resort area ?
ANSWER: There are two beaches on the resort, Chang Noi and Half Moon, both have sandy beaches and are safe for children.
9. Are the villas well equipped if we want to eat dinner at home ?
ANSWER: All villas come with a fitted kitchen and offer different varieties of cutlery, crockery, and usually a fitted dish washer.
10. What activities are there on Koh Chang that are a must ?
ANSWER: Chang means elephant so if you have not experienced this adventure before then a small elephant trek is very pleasant . There is a good local camp at Ban Chang next to local Klong Son village.
If you love exploring the outdoors then the waterfalls are always popular. Koh Chang is a National Park so there is an admission price but if you visit more than one waterfall in one day you can use the same ticket.
Visiting the fireflies is a nice excursion around dinner. Children love watching the trees light up with the bright fire flies. If you have dinner at Anna resort they will take you on a small trip free of charge.
